Jonathan Pope is an Emmy-nominated Cinematographer who has lensed work distributed and showcased around the world.
From painting at an early age, self-taught editing in high school, and discovering the art of cinematography in college, Jonathan has always been drawn to visual storytelling. He thrives on the collaborative process - the meeting of images, intention, style, and substance.
Jonathan's recent projects include the horror-thriller, Initiation (Lionsgate|Saban Films), the LGBTQ documentary, The Sound of Identity (Starz|Shout! Studios), and The Social Dilemma (Netflix|Exposure Labs), the Emmy-winning documentary-narrative from Director Jeff Orlowski. Currently, Jonathan is filming a new Barney the Dinosaur docuseries for Peacock, from Scout Productions (Queer Eye).
Jonathan earned his MFA in Film & Television Production from USC's School of Cinematic Arts and received a Bachelor's degree in Digital Filmmaking from Georgia Southern University.
While at USC, Jonathan was the recipient of the 2011 Charles Lang Endowed Scholarship for Cinematography, the 2012 Thomas B. Bush Memorial Scholarship for Cinematography, USC's nominee for the 2012 Kodak Cinematography Scholarship, and the USC submission to the 2013 ASC Heritage Award.
Jonathan was raised in Atlanta and is currently based in Los Angeles.
