Jonathan Pope is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning Cinematographer whose work has been distributed and showcased around the world.

 

From painting at an early age, to self-taught editing in high school, and discovering the art of cinematography in college, Jonathan has always been drawn to visual storytelling in its many forms. He thrives on the collaborative process - the meeting of images, intention, style, and substance.

 

Jonathan's recent projects include Barney the Dinosaur docuseries I Love You, You Hate Me (Peacock|Scout Productions), the horror-thriller Initiation (Lionsgate|Saban Films), and The Social Dilemma (Netflix|Exposure Labs), the Emmy-winning documentary-narrative from Director Jeff Orlowski.



Jonathan earned his MFA in Film & Television Production from USC's School of Cinematic Arts and received a Bachelor's degree in Digital Filmmaking from Georgia Southern University.​

In 2021, Jonathan received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography (The Social Dilemma). He is also a participant of the 2022 ASC Vision Mentorship program, the recipient of the 2011 Charles Lang Endowed Scholarship for Cinematography, the 2012 Thomas B. Bush Memorial Scholarship for Cinematography, and USC's nominee for the 2012 Kodak Cinematography Scholarship and the 2013 ASC Heritage Award.

Jonathan is a member of ICG IATSE Local 600.
